We are just starting to use it for our son and it doesn’t seem to stick very good so we are putting a band aid over it. Hope your day is going well! My husband and I have three wonderful if rambunctious boys 9, 4, and 2. I work part time as a school bus driver and my kids (even my little ones) can go with me and so YAY no childcare expenses!  Our oldest has been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD. My hubby is also ADHD but undiagnosed, and I’m begining to suspect my 4yo is either ADHD/ODD too or at least picking up the bad behaviors. I have just recently become aware of essential oils and all that can be done with them (amazing!). I was wondering if anyone here has had sucess with essential oils and side effects of ADHD/ODD? Found it to be a very positive addition to my life. Due to the nature of the work I do, i need extreme focus for very long hours of the day. My doctor asked me to try taking my 30 mg twice a day. Tried for two days but had more side effects than I had when initially starting the drug—-more severe insomnia, racing heart, and these really fast head-rush moments. I talked with my doctor about this and we decided to try taking 30 mg in the morning and 20 mg in the afternoon since the 30/30 appeared to cause more side effects. Today is my third day doing so, but I seem to still have some side effects—particularly the short, fast, head-rush experience many times throughout the day. Not even really sure how to describe it. I noticed his attention span was really short but I thought that was normal for his age. We entered him into T-ball and it was once his practices started that we noticed a difference. His attention span was so short compared to other kids on his team, who were all the same age. Where the other kids were following directions and running through their drills he was aimlessly wandering around the field. When he’s at home he’s constantly on the move. Running nonstop from room to room, climbing, jumping, yelling, just going non stop. We are currently awaiting an evaluation from a behavioral doctor, but before that even happens we know that if we are to get a diagnosis we aren’t interested in medicating him just yet. What sort of alternative treatments have been found to be effective in young children? We just started fish oil but we’re only on day two so we havent seen any real results yet. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. 2013-04-11T16:15:02-05:00 Any differance between Generic and name brand Concerta?? http://connect.additudemag.com/forums/viewthread/606/ http://connect.additudemag.com/forums/viewthread/606/#When:09:43:03Z Besides the price (for me at least   My son (then 9) started on name brand Concerta 36 mg at the end of last school year..it worked well and the side effects got “doable” with time.  This past school year generic came out and the Dr. started writng the prescription for that.  I didn’t notice any change…but to be honest wasn’t looking for any.  I have heard others say that the generic can have the opposit effect it is supposed to and other things even memos at Drs offices saying not to prescribe generic.  Have any of you noticed any change with generic or heard anything from medical professionlas about any difference?? 2013-03-22T09:43:03-05:00
