I’ve been giving my daughter 2 capsules of Vayarin but after reading an article in ADditude I’m questioning this decision. Does anyone know anything about vayarin?

It looks like it has,
Phosphatidylserine (PS): 150 mg
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA): 43 mg
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA): 17 mg

The article recommends 1000 mg?

I don’t see any articles on about Vayarin. If you are referring to articles about Fish Oil supplements, those refer to over the counter fish oil. Vayarin is a “medical food drug” that requires a prescription. It has an additive not found in traditional fish oil supplements and should be taken as per the prescribing doctor’s instructions.

I tried Vayarin with my two sons - two pills twice a day as directed, for three months as the directions said it could take that long to be effective.  After three months there were no noticable effects whatsoever. So we stopped using it.

I didn’t notice any effects either, good or bad.
