ADHD and Bipolar Disorder

I was diagnosed bipolar II 7 years ago and I’ve been struggling forever to get better, I kept on getting depressed and they cycled me trough so many different meds. No one considered that I might have ADHD. Then I started seeing a new psychiatrist (I moved to another city) and he diagnosed me. I’m scared of taking Ritalin, all my previous doctors were reluctant to prescribe it. I guess I just need to hear that it is okay and that I’m going to be okay.

you are going to b ok.
as long as your bipolar meds work as closely to desirable expectations as possible.

Thank you. My meds for the bipolar is working I guess, I’m just slightly depressed most of the time. But I’ve been taking the higher Ritalin dose for a week now and I feel better emotionally as well.

Feeling better emotionally makes a huge difference. Enjoy that new energy. When I found that space, I became more aware of my thoughts and moods, and with help, I knew real sadness from sadness induced from medication leaving my body. Stick with it, you can only go up from here.
