ARD meeting
Good afternoon,
My son is 9 years old and has ADHD, I was sent an invitation for his annual ARD meeting at the school. My concern is that this year I don’t see any educational growth especially in his Reading. I want to know if anyone knows what I can request for him to see why his reading is not improving (seems to be at a stand still) and what I can do to get those accomodations for him, especially since his ARD is coming up soon?

My son is also 9 and his teacher gave us the following strategies for reading fluency. These might be able to be included in your ARD (we don’t have an ARD currently), but we are doing some these at home.
Echo reading - read a page to your son so he can hear it and then have him read the page back to you.
Choral reading - read with your son at the same time. Have him follow your lead and your voice.
Read familiar material - I had been trying to get him to read different books, but the teacher said read the same one over an over.
