Adderall seems to be working!

I am pleased at the level of stability I have seen in my son who started generic adderall 20 mg about 2 weeks ago. the first few days were rocky and I was preparing for another failure. We tried ritalin and that was not good. It has seemed to be working and not too many emotional meltdowns! We still have some anger and aggresion problems at home but boy oh boy have they calmed down! I am so pleased smile I sure hope this continues!! I have tried to cut back on my work hours so I can be home with the kids more often and that means less daycare and after school program hours which I think will help them all! I can smile today smile

I know the feeling exactly!!  When we started meds - it was like a miracle come true.  He wasn’t perfect, but we could make it through the day without crying (both he & I).  I don’t want to burst your bubble, but there is a plateau.  It’s so much better, though, to relax a bit and not worry that your child is constantly getting in trouble.  It will help with self-esteem too.  Good luck!

How old is your son?  That’s great!

We experienced the same with my DD. She is six…She has a big improvement in her attention and her work and impulsive behavior at school. She was first on metadate and was a nightmare. Sometimes she show her oppositional side but with more control. But after two months the only thing that we are struggling right now is her lost appetite but this is only at lunchtime. I give her a full breakfast (eggs, pancakes, proteins) before the pill and when she is out of school she is hungry again so I give her 2 snacks before and after dinner. and she is holding her weight because after a month and a half she lost a pound although isn’t a lot but she always have been a skinny body type so, one pound it is noticeable.
