Just Diagnosed With ADHD (Adults)

Adult ADHD and Migraines

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if any of you happen to have Migraines and ADHD? If so, are the two related?

I have had migraines for years and I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I was told my migraines are due to a chemical imbalance in my brain, as is my ADHD. So I was trying to figure out if the two are somehow related. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks smile

I would say most definetely.  I have been diagnosed with Migraines for years and just now ADHD.  I think they could be for sure.

I know that I had headaches as a young girl in school.  I can remember them like they were yesterday, which leads me to believe they were migraines.  I still get daily headaches and several migraines a month.  My doctor told me that depression can have physical symptoms and the majority of the medical community tends to believe other conditions, such as adhd, can have physical symptoms as well.  I haven’t found that adhd medication has relieved my headaches, but I do function better when I have them now that I’m on a stimulant.  Where in the past a simple headache would send me into a deeper depression until it was relieved and nothing would be accomplished ...
