Attitude editorial advisory board and drug company money

Five of this magazine’s advisory board members received a total of $260,000 from 2009 to 2011 from the drug companies that make Strattera and Concerta, among other medications. Source: http://projects.propublica.org/docdollars/

Their recent rebuttal to the NY Times story on ADHD did not address this point.

Thoughts everyone?

Where else are they going to get money?  Are you a paid subscriber?

While not always a big fan of drug companies - I do think they have been known to engage in nefarious practices - it makes total sense for them to support the communities that use their products.  Next you will be angry that mop companies supported Ladies Home Journal.

I just don’t see the big smoking gun - over three years time several drug companies combined provided support to a magazine where only about 7% or less of the entire population would have any interest and they gave less than $100,000 a year, not even each, combined.  No doubt that barely covered printing costs for the print version or the servers to keep these message boards up and running for a year - and you are mad about what again?

You know, it’s information, take it or leave it. I don’t see the need to criticize this post, there are many sides to every story. No harm done.
