Could I have adult ODD when I'm wanting to do things ?

If I want to do something, invariably I end up unable too - and strongly because I do things to goof it up.

For example, I know that every Sunday I’ll be teaching kindergartners during 1st hour.  I have a daily routine all set, which if I would follow it, would have everything ready long before Saturday night.  Well, it’s almost 2 AM Sunday morning, and I am probably 3/4 done.  I spent much time tonight on my cell phone, on Facebook and otherwise, instead of at least finishing up..

I am trapped by circumstances, but you’d think I could control what I can.  Instead I sabotage myself at every turn.

I wouldn’t be surprised if I was labeled with anxiety and/or depression, and possibly add/adhd,  I know I have chronic stress, and I yell at things.  I don’t run away or steal, etc., unless you count the cell phone use as running away.

I apologize if my questions seem dumb and that I don’t get back right away.  Usually because I forget to check back.

Hi Theresa!

You are not “sabotaging” yourself because these are not choices you make. ADHD makes it hard to start and follow through on projects, and the internet and social media are such easy distractions.

Here are some strategies on follow-through and completing projects:
