Falling Asleep during the Day (at work)

I am having an extremely hard time staying awake during particular dull or mundane times of he work day.  I go to bed regularly at 10 and wake up without an alarm around 6 - 6:30 AM.  I also sleep with a CPAP mask and machine.  However I am still finding myself with hypersomnia throughout the day and when I am driving.  If I am home and active, I am wide awake.  Like I said, it’s when I am doing boring tasks or sitting in a boring meeting that I find myself barely keeping my eyes open.  I don’t want to get fired…!  (I even dozed off 4 times while typing this message)


I have experienced this as well. I recall the urge to sleep in those moments being so overwhelming, so powerful it was like I had been drugged. I was also terrified of having a car accident or succumbing to the sleepiness during a business meeting. Sometimes taking extensive notes works to keep me awake. I have also left the meeting for a bathroom break and took a 15 min powernap in the potty. When it occured while driving I would pull over to a well lighted spot and nap there. This may a sign of narcolepsy as well, so get tested. And it is common with sleep apnea.  Good luck
