Generic Adderall recently not working
Keywords:

My husband and I are both diagnosed ADHD. Both prescribed different doses. Since we were both last refilled we have noticed the medication is not working. For me I could take one 20 mg in the AM and a half around 2pm and be set for the day. Right now I am take my full 20 MGM 3xdail (as prescribed) and cannot even tell I have taken them. The only thing I have noticed is my tongue is dry and hurts! We both have TEVA manufactured. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Any suggestions on what to do with this medication? Will a pharmacy take the bottle back? Or provide a different manufacturer?

I wouldn’t be so concerned but the same exact thing has happened to both of us. AND I am an adolescent therapist and have noticed my clients and their parents reporting that they have noticed this as well.

Mine pharmacy changed manufactorers last month and I felt like it wasnt working as well.  I just picked up my script for Adderrall 20mg and I told the pharmacist today that I didnt feel like it was working and he just said that is the who they will be using from now on.  He didnt really answer my question but Im glad Im not the only one experiencing this.

There is a lot of talk about generic Adderall and generic Concerta not working as well. In fact, the FDA pulled the “generic equivalent” status of several Concerta generic manufacturers after getting so many complaints.

So, it’s very likely that this generic is not giving you the same coverage as what you were taking before. The pharmacist should be able to tell you which manufacturer you had before and if they can start stocking that one again for you.

I highly encourage you to post this question to ADDitude’s new discussion forums, as well. I think your question would get a lot of attention in the For Adults> Treating Your ADHD forum: https://www.additudemag.com/forums/forum/manage-your-life/treating-adult-adhd/. ADDconnect is transitioning over to this new forum.
