Girlfirend with ADHD, long distance relationship

Hey everyone,

were to begin? My name is Joe and I am from germany.
About, hmmm it has to be three months ago now, I started talking to a woman, we understood each other very well and kept talking. Her name is Kelly and she is from england. We grew closer, as much as this is possible over the internet, and eventually the love word was used. And we wanted to make this relationship work. We talked and talked and someday she told me that she had ADHD. I could tell she was very afraid to tell me. And I really did not care about that. Yes I understood what it meant but I did not care, because I really love her. So about 2 weeks ago she started to be online less and less. She told me she had trouble with her ADHD and wanted time to herself. i gave her the time, reminded her that I loved her and that she could talk to me about anything, that I will always listen and never judge her. She, at some point, called her life pathetic, and I told her that she is not pathetic and that I care about her. After some time for herself she was online again and we talked like we always did. She said she would be offlien again for a week untill the 26th. I have not heard form her untill now. And I do worry about her. But I dont have a way to conntact her except twitter, were we met, and there she has not been. I dont know how you guys can help me but I really need someoen to talk to about that. I hope to find someone here.

Joe,

I don’t have any advice for you myself, but an ADDitudeMag.com reader recently asked a similar question and was answered by ADHD and Relationships expert, Melissa Orlov. You can read her answer here: http://www.additudemag.com/adhdblogs/11/print/8834.html. I hope that helps you get a bit of understanding of her perspective.
