Intuniv Reviews

Guanfacine vs Intuniv vs Clonidine vs Kapvay

I’ve used Guanfacine and Clonidine as an add-on therapy to my short-acting Adderall 30mg bid, but it didn’t help and made me tired. I used it at night to help my insomnia but never used it for attention, etc. I asked my doc for the new long-acting version of Guanfacine called Intuniv (saw an ADHD ad for it in the waiting room) but it has 24-hour release and still made me tired during the day as peek plasma was early.

I heard there’s a new drug called Kapvay that’s a sustained release Clonidine but it’s sustained over 12-hours and a more steady-state rate of release.

Has anyone tried Kapvay? I would assume it would be a best choice out of all available alpha agonists because a 12-hr release would give me much more flexibility to take it as needed and not have it on-board for 24/365.

Thoughts?
