How do I deal with lazy coworkers?

I work graveyards as a line cook at IHOP, and for yhe most part I like my coworkers, but there is this one guy that drives me absolutely crazy!

He is lazy, doesn’t pay attention to the details,  can’t do the job right, and he doesn’t seem to care!

One night he said he was going to clean the floor. He was told that the floors needed to be deep cleaned with the scrubber and the hose. He goes and gets a sanitizer bucket, pours water on the floor and uses a broom to spread the water around. Later on I tell him what needed to be done with the floor and he tells me that he heard that but didn’t want to do that much. And that is just one example of the type of employee he is.

It drives me crazy!

How do I handle this? I know that business professionals say that I should ignore him, but given the proximity in which we work and my personality I know that I can’t.

What do I do?

I’m trying to learn as well my friend, to better accept my hell like coworkers!

This is a health issue. Have you reported this to the manager? Not doing his job in not only unethical but could get the restaurant in trouble with the health department.
