i have been to my adhd clinic today and im due to start the strattera soon…i have been told it takes 3-4 week to work…but i have also been told that on average people start on 60mg :/

A 60mg tablet or total dose?

I have been on 40 mg 2x day of Strattera for about 6 months.  I would say it took at least several weeks for me to see much difference and a full 6 weeks or longer to get to where I am now.  I only notice a difference in a few areas… not the magic bullet I was hoping for.  However it improves enough in some areas that it is worth while for me.  In my case, we are wanting to avoid some of the side effects of the stimulant class.

Molly MS is right. It takes 6-8 weeks to kick in. I started at 18mg and worked up to 60 over the course of a month.  I also had some odd side effects that almost made me go off of it…I felt restless and cranky all the time, and I had NO interested in being sweet to my boyfriend (random nice texts, quick kiss before class). However, now that it is fully kicked in (been on it about 4 months) it is SO WORTH IT. Just hang in there, and message me if you need someone to talk to while it kicks in.

hiya sorry i didnt reply i have only just seen this…how is it goin on the strattera? i have started mine now…and i am taking 40mg a day in 1 dose…and maybe moving upto 60mg nextweek…

My Doctor stated to me that a lot of it really depends on a person age/weight when taking Stratterra
  He has some patients at 160 mg p/day.  I started on it 8 months ago -18mg when 40 mg then 60 mg now 80 mg.  I have thought I suffered depression for years and I was going crazy then came the Major Anxiety -  So I challenged my Doctor after talking I was put on this based on my job which I cant take the others - I will probably be going up to 100 mg p/day next month - THIS DRUG HAS CHANGED MY LIFE - It toke me about 2-4 weeks but I started increasing mg every week.  People around be can tell I’m more calm and relax - I have to still have a lot to learn but this is a Magical Drug for me
