Hypersensitive to touch?

I’ve always been very ticklish. My first husband would tickle me mercilessly, which would usually end up with me crying because he wouldn’t stop. The last 5 years or so, I have either become so hypersensitive to his touch, that pretty much no matter where or how he touches me, it tickles. And, I don’t mean a little bit, makes me want tohit him away. In my mind, it seemed like he was trying to touch me as lightly as he could, just to drive me crazy and I would get aggitated and then angry. I’ve just wondered the last few years if I am possibly hypersensitive. Anybody else experienced this? TIA

It sounds to me like your first husband is being almost abusive. If he knew that you were sensitive like that, why in the world would he continue to do it?

I am also very ticklish. If I tell my husband to stop, it’s ticklish, he does it because he loves and respects me.

For myself I think it’s a sensory problem.

Dr. Daniel Amen identifies a type of ADHD that involves hypersensitivity to touch etc.  He also has identified more types of ADHad than are acknowledged officiall.  You might want to check out his work.

If you have access to an in- person CHADD group you mightfind out more from them.

Hopefully some one will post something from their own experience.

What does your doctor say about the hypersensibility?

Yes, yes and yes I do experience this A LOT! I’m also very sensitive to light and noise. A lot of times when my husband tries to hug me etc. It doesn’t feel good, like when I don’t see it coming, if that makes sense. Noise also affects me like maybe a certain tone someone talks or sings in. Loud people or people talking on their phones. I have to sleep with a fan on at night or I would wake up to every little noise.
I don’t like wind blowing on my skin sometimes. And being tickled annoys me most times. I have nightmares being tickled. These are just some of the things that I’m sensitive to.

As a child I couldn’t stand even a little bit of damp between my fingers after washing. I had to dry them really thoroughly. And i’ve always been sensitive to scratchy clothes.
