ADHD at School

IEP Creation Help

So my son, who is 13 and currently in 8th grade, was just approved for an IEP for his ADHD. During the evaluation at his school it was also discovered that he is dyslexic.

We are currently in the process of developing an IEP for him. What are some accomedations that you have found most beneficial in helping your child? He has struggled so much with school, I want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to make the remainder of his schooling successful, and helping him create lasting habits that will continue to benefit him throughout life.

Thank you!

Hi heatwalk81!

There’s a great free download on on creating IEPs. It includes many sample accommodations.

I think you’ll find it very useful.

Last year I went to Due Process twice, back to back, now my 10 year old has an extensive IEP. I have the information you want. I am in Sacramento, CA, but you can call my home office, it is a public number for family resources anyway. Then, leave me a message and I will call you and email you copies of the Goals, Services, Accommodations, and OT. The OT is specifically for my son’s ADHD. Victor (916) 514-6333
