Large high school or small high school

Hi,  We are in Sydney, Australia, and I subscribe to ADDitude and get regular emails from many of the groups on ADDConnect.  I have found the groups very helpful for our family.  I’m looking for some advice.
My 14 year old son is in a large high school and my husband and I are considering moving him to a smaller high school.  We think he may focus better in a smaller high school (he is on Ritalin) and I think a larger high school makes him more sensitive.  We haven’t discussed this with him yet but we will discuss with him soon.  Does anyone have opinions on the benefits of small schools for kids with ADHD?

Thank you

I’m not convinced that school size is decisive. The teachers’ attitudes are, however, very important.

I suggest, that when you open the discussion, you ask what he thinks would help, rather than plant the idea of school size at the very beginning of the discussion. He may have a very different idea.
