Little Eater

My son is 7 yrs old and he has ADD.At first he was put on Adderal 10miligrams it worked great for about 10 months.I saw a little difference in his eating habits, but now he is on 20 miligrams and he only eats breakfast and dinner.I am very worried but on weekends i dont give him his meds he eats from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to sleep.I know that doesnt make up for the nutrients he is losing during the week any suggestions.

My daughter is the same way.  She was always a big eater, so it is hard to see her not eating.  I have been told to load her up at breakfast and dinner and let her have snacks before bed.  I try my best to make the food and good for her as possible. A lot of people have told me that a high protein diet is supposed to be good for ADHD.  She is only allowed to eat cereal 2 days a week and even then I add ground flax to it.  I have been able to find a lot of high protein recipes online!

Try Syntha-6 protein shake. Tastes great, and has high protein.

my son also only really eats breakfast and dinner(which i hand feed him) cuz he doesnt want ot sit down to eat. I send him to school with a healthy lunch but he doesnt really ever touch it.

I compensate by feeding him heavy meals like sausage and eggs, and protein dense dinners always with meat and carbs.

I try to not let him eat shitty foods at neighbors houses (deep fried, or candy, chips, etc)

... I think getting reid or artificial dyes (any process food that is a unnatural crazy color usually has em) Red dye #40-neurotoxin!!!!!!

there brains are much more sensitive to dyes, pesticides, preservatives, added hormones (in non-organic milk), etc.

oh and “syntha 6” chocolate protein mix is good like cadillacDave suggests. we add organic milk and a bannana and ice, yummm…...can add a bit of flax seed too, to get some essential fatty acids!

My son is also 7 and he lost 5 pounds on Adderyall which he took for 5 months. He’s very lean child so he cannot afford to lose anymore weight. We switched him to vyvanse in january cause there are less incidents of weight loss and that it can last 14 hours instead of 8 for homework reasons. I have seen my son appetite come back a little. I have started to do protein shakes, but interested in more food options for a very picky eater. Please if you have any.
