Focalin Reviews

My son takes 15mg of Folcalin XR

His doctor gave him Focalin 5mg (not XR-extended release)for after school. . How long does this dose last?? I may not use it if it last too long and gives him insomnia. Thanks

I believe the short acting is about 4 hrs.  That’s what the doctor’s seem to say about all the short acting meds.

Yes, it is 4 hours.  My daughter is supposed to take one with the 15mg. XR together in the morning, and then the extra 5mg after 4 hours, but she usually does not.  I don’t see this working out that great for her, but she did take it when she got home one day and it did keep her more focused on homework.  She was not the flittery butterfly for a change.  It did affect her sleep and I wouldn’t want her to do that every time.
