Nerofeedback test and treatment?

I heard that besides taking medicine, one way for ADHD treatment is called Nerofeedback test and treatment. Did anyone know this treatment strategy and how it works? It is supposed to be expensive.

Hi Mitzi,
Thanks a lot for your detailed response !
I just have a couple of concerns. How mature is this technique? I am wondering since it is so convenient and no side effects, why it is not as popular as medicine? Also I am not sure whether it is suitable for kids around 8 years old? Will that treatment impact his brain other than just treating ADHD?
Thanks a lot!

My son was 9 at the time that we tried Neurofeedback treatment. It worked great but was too expensive for me. We only did it for 3 mths and I was able to see positive results. I think you should give it a try if you’re able to afford it. My insurance did not cover it and this is the 1st time I’m hearing that insurance may cover something like this.

Best of Luck

Thanks you all!

How much do you need to pay each time and how long it need to take?  Like one month or one year ?

Thank you !

Here’s an article on that gives the low-down on Neurofeedback for ADHD: This short article will answer some of your lingering questions. It’s best after that to ask a practitioner in your area for the nitty-gritty details.
