ADHD in Maryland

New to group: Baltimore County (Timonium/Towson)

Hi -

I’m kind of thrilled to see a group for Maryland with resources etc. My name is Ella, and I am newly diagnosed and newly a member of ADDConnect.

Just wanted to say hi.

Hey Ella, I actually live near you in Pikesville and like you am new to this website. However, I have lived with ADHD since i was 7 thanks to my dad. On Wednesday I am going to be 33 years old and am still learning about treatment options after all these years. One thing I find to be a lifesaver is using a planner- that way we won’t forget the important things in our life and I highly recommend it along with a book by Kate Kelly and Peggy Ramundo called “You mean I’m not lazy, crazy, or stupid.” It should be at Pratt or the county library.

I second that book. I’ve recommended it to people a lot but never saw it as applying to me till recently. I am wanting to get diagnosed but I can’t find anyone that will see adults for testing and not for 1200.00. I have great insurance and I want to use it. I live in Towson as well. I am trying to work on my chronic time and disorganization issues, and its so frustrating!
