ADHD Nutrition and Weight Loss/Gain
Time Management
I’m really good about making lists and checking things off as I get them done. I even set a timer if I know that I’m going to be challenged.
I’m a middle school teacher, head of two departments and very reliable. However, my classroom is disorganized, I have a lot of assignments to grade, and a few rooms in my house are messy.
My husband thinks I haven’t controlled anything. That makes me so sad. I feel like I have no support at home. I eat too much and never seem to have time or energy to exercise. Do you all feel the same way? How do I get out of this funk? It’s really bringing me down.

I think many of us are familiar with this discouraging situation. We have made great progress in important areas of our lives, yet others focus on our apparent shortcomings. Believe me, no one is perfect! You have to recognize that you have chosen to work on important areas of your life, and are making an impact. Some things are not as important, such as keeping all the rooms in your house pristine.
Ask your husband to help you in the areas he thinks are important. Perhaps discussing specifics will tease out his real thinking on priorities. Is he pulling his weight at home? Maybe asking for his help will get him involved in solutions rather than only criticisms.
Regarding your eating and exercising, some exercise will help your state of mind. Try doing something like walking, every day if possible. Read the “4 Hour Body” or the website for the slow carb diet and some tricks to use.
Keep accomplishing your priorities! Others do not realize how HARD it is for ADDers! Be proud of your accomplishments!
If you’re good at lists try weight watchers.
