Parents of ADHD Children

kids calm

Hello everyone, has anyone tried natural vitality kids calm from the vitamin shoppe?

I would like to give this a try with my son but I would recommend checking with the doctor fiest? I son is currently on foclain xr so I am going to ask his doctor about this before trying it out.

Thanks Whitaker,my son’s doctor doesn’t believe in vitamins for ADHD.she told me to try it but it’s gonna be a waste of money.I got it today and gave it to my son and will see what will happen after a few days.

My son’s been using it for about a year now.  He uses it mostly on the weekends. He usually doesn’t take his Focalin XR on the weekends, but if he is going to play in a game or attend an activity where we think he’s going to get overly excited, he uses it.  It does seem to help him “take the edge off”.  I bought 1 bottle, figuring we could try it and if it doesn’t work, then we don’t buy it again.  With the high cost of his meds, this was a bargain in comparison.  When he takes it, he’s himself, just a little more mellow.

Yes, depending on the severity of your child’s ADD it works but not a lot.  It certainly is not a replacement for meds if your child has inattention that needs to be addressed.

Not that I can speak for every child but we tried every natural remedy and supplement I could find before finally surrendering to medication.  In our experience we might see a slight difference at first but usually nothing seemed to truly work long term.  It was very, very difficult for me to finally give into the medication route- but I have to say since starting it in May it has been the biggest game changer.  His confidence and self-esteem have re-gathered and I do feel for us it was the right choice.
